I just want to send a special and heartfelt thanks to all of you that have been patient waiting for your photos these past few weeks! I am so grateful too for all your prayers! My father is now in the middle of a long road to recovery! For those of you whom are unaware of the recent news, I will fill in the backstory.
The early morning before Thanksgiving, my father, whom had never been admitted for any health problems, awoke to a nasty cough. After several quick coughing spells he rose from his chair and passed out! Upon his fall he busted open his lip. As a result we took him to the emergency room and hours later, he was admitted for a series of cardiovascular tests. Thanksgiving morning he took and failed a stress test (a brief but brisk walk on a tread mill). His doctors order a heart angiogram. They found three blockages around his heart. One had a 97% blockage, another 67%, and the other 45% blockage. They scheduled surgery for the following week! …….. The next week, Dec 2, 2010 at 9:35 a.m. my dads heart was stopped for over an hour while doctors rewired the arteries around his heart! One hour and a half and five minutes later his heart started beating by itself without any electrical help from his surgeons. He came out a new man with a new lease on life.
Post-Op — Day 3— Dad is doing great but has a mile and another mile to go! He has a new set of arteries but he will need a great deal of time and work to rebuild the one muscle in your body that takes care of everything else- the heart! I know that each day he will recover more and by your prayers and a great team of surgeons, doctors, friends, and family he will be up and running before the summer arrives!
Special thanks! To the team of doctors whom were all hand picked by their colleague and fellow doctor and friend– my dad! They all came to his side when he needed them the most and all went the extra mile for him the day of surgery and the days following. To my parents friends who lined the hospital waiting room praying every hour before and after my dads surgery! To my family for traveling hours to spend every moment with my dad before and after surgery! To Citizens hospital in Victory Texas and an their amazing staff of nurses! To Dr. Yahagee, for holding my dads heart in his hands! And last but not least, to God, for honoring my father and giving him back everything he has given….
Thank you all for being patient with me as I try and help my mother care for my father. I am now back to full edits and will be posting more AMAZING images over the weekend! Did I just brag a little? Yea maybe, but I am so happy to have my father around even if it is for only one more day….
