I took a weekend out of shooting in Fort Worth to do a HS senior photo shoot in Austin, Texas and what I got was spontaneous and unmapped! To be honest, I’m not familiar with locations in Austin and based on the HS seniors style including my perfectionists way of thinking I got overwhelmed and simply could not DECIDE! There were just too many spots to shoot! I mean downtown alone is a field trip come true! Do not get me wrong, I love FW, but Austin is Austin! Their logo, “Keep Austin Weird” pretty much sums up what I am saying! We only had a few hours to do this photo shoot and since I could not decide on a location to represent Austin, I went with the skyline. I figured since I drove all this way, I needed to make the pictures symbolic of the capital city. I mean a brick wall is a brick wall! I can find that on the side of my house. Cliche maybe, but it grabs Austin without the typical trend of 6th street photos. Mr. “C” is an artist and that worked well with my idea. What we did not expect were the random pianos set up around the city as part of an art exhibit! Too cool! We used that to our advantage and what we came up with is timeless. Austin is Austin and cannot wait to shot their again!
